“The most important things are the hardest to say. They are the things you get ashamed of, because words diminish them — words shrink things that seemed limitless when they were in your head to no more than living size when they’re brought out. But it’s more than that, isn’t it? The most important things lie too close to wherever your secret heart is buried, like landmarks to a treasure your enemies would love to steal away. And you may make revelations that cost you dearly only to have people look at you in a funny way, not understanding what you’ve said at all, or why you thought it was so important that you almost cried while you were saying it. That’s the worst, I think.”—Stephen King (via constantreminders)
Someone’s probably in love with you right now, even though you think you’re boring and stupid and smell bad most of the time, someone probably saw you last week and wiped their sweaty hands on the insides of their pockets and thought about your body under your clothing and about how you would look asleep in their bed
I don’t have time for people who hate Macklemore right now. He’s stayed culturally appropriate, respectful AND positive. He’s trying to do what he can to make a change and that’s a lot more than most people in the music industry are doing. Literally shut the fuck up.
So we have an Italian exchange student at our school. And he and I were hanging out and he saw a pony, and he tried to show me but he didn’t know what it was called so he just pointed at it and said “Look, the compressed horse.”
And then he just grinned at his complete understanding of the English language.
One of the best things about being in a Shakespeare play is when you’ve rehearsed so many times that everyone kind of knows each other’s lines and you start casually using them in rehearsal downtime (like ‘a thousand times goodnight’ when someone leaves or ‘I prithee hold thy peace’ when people are being disruptive) and everyone in the cast gets to feel like they’re in on the reference.
I love when you become so close with someone that you can see parts of each other in one another and you begin to say the same things and steal lines from one another and have a similar sense of humor and can exchange an inside joke with just a glance you don’t even have to talk because you have such a strong connection with them and you can sit in comfortable silence but also talk for hours it’s really hard to find that kind of compatibility
